Lorraine RiordanGetting to know me has to start with the Wizard of Oz. You see, I did play Dorothy in a production of the Wizard of Oz, oh so many years ago on 189th Street in Washington Heights in New York City. That is where it all began, this quest for something over the rainbow, looking for that larger than life thrill, and yet always knowing that there was no place like home. You see, home was inside me, waiting to happen; it was my dreams and visions. Home was finding out what made me alive, living my passions and fulfilling my purpose. So here I am, still walking down that yellow brick road with a dog that looks a lot like Toto, but I call her Logan. I am the Wizard and Oz is the place within me, to live what I feel I was meant to do, be and have.

For most of my life I did follow my heart. I wanted to be an actress and received my BA in Acting and Directing. Upon graduation, I was working as an on-air news reporter for a cable company, writing, producing and getting in front of the camera doing what I loved; being creative and expressing myself freely. It was an amazing experience. I enjoyed working as Time Warner Cable’s Public Relations Director and then as Director of Communications and Training.

I stayed with cable most of my life.  Around 2005 or so, the zest and zeal of it all started to wane. It just wasn’t happening anymore. The passion was gone. On December 4, 2006 while home sick watching Ellen (the good witch) The SECRET was revealed and I went from zero to 100 in 16 seconds. I got myself a personal development coach with the Jack Canfield Personal Coaching group. One of the things I was asked to do was to write my life purpose. It has been on my bulletin board ever since and it reads: “My life purpose is to use my creative energy and enthusiasm to support, inspire and motivate others to live their lives on purpose and with passion for themselves and the world around them.” WOW!

And then the magic happened! After 28 years I was given the pink slip. My journey gave me lots of experience, new skills and of course along the way I became friends with some amazing people (The Scarecrow, the Tinman and the Lion). And that’s when I found the courage, the heart and the brains to start all over…

So, what I really did was jumpstart my battery, or to keep with my theme, I ran into a couple of monkeys and had to throw a bucket of water on a really mean witch. The additional spark on how to use this new knowledge was a quote in the forward of a book titled “The Passion Test” that said, “The two most important days of a person’s life, is the day they were born and the day they figure out why.” Since then, my why has become clear and people, places and things have shown up to make sure my “WHY” happened.

So here I am. When they said, “don’t pay attention to that man behind the curtain,” I didn’t. I worked hard these past few years not listening to that little voice of fear. I love what I do. I train, I teach, I mentor and I inspire. I am a Certified Passion Test Facilitator. I use my creative energy and drive to help people reinvent their lives. I call what I do, Lifestyle Management Mentoring. Is there something in my little black bag for you…call or email me today to find out!
